Circus On Fire

Moon Draws Water
They wouldn’t believe me
no matter how I tried
I said there’s gotta be reasons
that people keep leaving

She couldn’t have asked me
and I wouldn’t say why
This game is for nothing
If I don’t believe in it

Now I’m drawn to her
like the moon draws water

With each little slight there are
cracks that are built upon
The craziest moment was when
Defeating it felt like a beating

Never declining a chance
to be heard and seen
If there isn’t anything else
Who’s listening to this nonsense?

Some are drawn to her
like the moon draw water

Measured out it’s just this
I pretend I can’t split
Even now I can’t find my way out

Serving in silence
While waiting for nothing
She gave me a reason
This game is for nothing
If I don’t believe in it

Still I’m drawn to her
like the moon draws water

Look At Yourself
You can’t be the middle man and be a big deal

I tiptoe from center while everyone feels
If you can’t work harder than anyone else
You should lay down your anger and look at yourself

Look at yourself

Deep in your cornerstone your spine settles in
The weight of your anger is heaved with regret
The wringing inside of you is barely a swell
And still it sits telling you to look at yourself

Look at yourself

You’re one step from sinister
And only as good as your worst day

You can’t be the middle man and be a big deal
I tiptoe from center while everyone feels
If you can’t work harder than anyone else
You should lay down your anger and look at yourself

Look at yourself

Circus On Fire
The tents came falling down

‘round smoky spilled sky
Your mistake a small spark and a lie
New towns making space
for demons to hide

And circles ready made are easily defiled
Every breath you gave it fire,

I can see the swirling swarming flames
Mirrors twist our faces

Denied the price of real

Never showing the real emotions
In a haze up close, I’ll step back to see
The balance being broken
There’s a line that’s nearing closer to an edge
Fighting for control you lost,
When I was found

Through the wreckage in

a circus on fire
You showed me the match
And moved down the wire
Convinced the clowns, deceiving crowds
Should I have known your tricks were up your sleeve
How was I to know that

You were going to leave

Fine
We’re not allowed to talk about it but you do
Then you say you’re under attack, but you don’t bounce back

I just can’t rest with this thought in my head
Left feeling let down, disguised and discarded

You will be fine

Crippled beneath all the waves of their feelings
Their treasures, their pleasures, their stones

One story berates you, another can save you, and the tenth one will make things alright.

You will be fine

If every single moment is counted by the rest
The purpose of scrolling is knowing what you like best

I wanna believe you, but I have to see you, I wanna be in your ear
This sound is… all I hear…

You will be fine

To see where we’re hiding, is this where we’re dying, just tryin’to be somebody you wanna know
A part of you needs it, but doesn’t believe it, but see it’s the reason that you want to go.

You will be fine

Who Would Want This
A soft introduction, a seat with a tribe in life

Hard waves of unreason will augment the treason, so we fight

Did we want this?
Now a demon beside us, it’s a weakness

You know in those moments when you think you’re no good?
You’re right.
But I’m watching believing when no one else would, so you may as well try

Did we want this?
Now a demon beside us, it’s a weakness
Who would want this?
If you’re a slave to your secrets, you’re a weakness

Now it’s just a new reflex
We reach for a reason
All we do is pass time
So they started to sell us, displayed by our details
And everything, everything, everything is fine

Did we want this?
Now a demon beside us, it’s a weakness
Who would want this?
If you’re a slave to your secrets, you’re a weakness

Something Better
Honestly it wasn’t that I didn’t care about you

I just cared about other things more than you wanted me to

Nothing worse could happen
Since you left
I wish I had done something to deserve this

Grit my teeth
I’ll burn it all down before I give it to you
If you shake me free
I hold onto it all because you want it from me

Nothing worse could happen since you left
I wish I had done something to deserve this

And in all these days not once could I believe
There’s nothing worse, but maybe something better

With lonely hearts, we’re carried away into a moment you find
I thought we tried, but giving it all wouldn’t stop your decline

Nothing worse could happen since you left
I wish I had done something to deserve this

And in all these days not once could I believe
There’s nothing worse, but maybe something better

Maybe something better… maybe maybe

Living In Here
Will you give it to me the way I pictured it
I start to think you will

If it’s given to me, I’ll just abandon it
I don’t think you’re equipped

The way it plays out in here
You don’t love it or me
It’s disconnected body
That can only live here

Is there a right way to be
It’s not interesting yet
You’ve barely made a dent

It isn’t me that’s unclear
There is no consequence to having common sense

The way it plays out in here
You don’t love it or me
It’s disconnected body
That can only live here

Please, don’t be nice
Another lonely heart, another sacrifice
You know… I can be cruel
I just don’t want you to see it outside this room.

The way it plays out in here
You don’t love it or me
It’s disconnected body
That can only live here

We can only live here

Unbound
You put a sound in my ears

Like a worm in the gears
When a blessing’s read
Maneuvering through anarchy is a battle scene

You think about the agony
because that’s all you see
and that story spins
Rethinking isn’t poetry, It’s necessity

Given time to think
No moment unnoticed
You can be unbound

Unexpectedly
I notice more moments
I will not be bound

A simple life is fantasy
We’re all just traveling while time battles on
Not everyone is waking up
But they’ve had enough

Unbearably blame everything
So you don’t have to change
The laziest show you’ve got
It’s easy to brew empathy, but it isn’t free

Given time to think
No moment unnoticed
You can be unbound

Unexpectedly
I notice more moments
I will not be bound
